Bisel Hearing Aid Center is a family owned hearing aid business in Southwest Houston. Chris Bisel, the owner, is a 3rd Generation, Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. Bisel Hearing Aid Center was founded by Devon M. Bisel, Chris’ Grandfather, in Beaumont, TX in 1955. Chris’ father, Gordon Bisel, was in the hearing aid business for over 50 years in Houston and Chris began his career with his father in 1989. The office at 4766 Beechnut St. in Meyerland Court has been in that location since 1980.
Chris is a lifelong Meyerland resident and remains highly active in his community and industry. Chris grew up in the hearing aid business, joined his father in 1989 and began his career in helping people hear and communicate better. Chris is a past member of the Audibel President’s Council, an item writer for the National Board Certification Exam in Hearing Instrument Sciences and the current President of the Texas Hearing Aid Association. Prior to being President, Chris served on the THAA Board of Directors for the past 6 years. He has been an active member of the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s dispensing network for 20 years, donating his time to fitting those who have been gifted hearing aids through the Foundation. Chris has also been a devoted Meyerland resident all his life serving as President of the Meyerland Community Improvement Association several times in the past 20 years as well as a Director.
Gordon Bisel worked hand in hand with officials and engineers at N.A.S.A. making custom fitted radio earmolds (to help with hands free, earth to space communications) for every astronaut in the Space Program from Gemini 5 through the first Space Shuttle mission. Earmolds supplied by the Bisel’s were used when the famous words were spoken when the first moon landing happened. Chris still has many of the ear impressions and backup earmolds of these hero’s in the office today.
Bisel Hearing Aid Center is one of the best equipped hearing healthcare offices in the area.
